Orbit Solar collectors

Orbit Solar collectors

Orbit is a solar collector (Flat Plate Collector) with a flexible installation system. It is simple to fit as integrated, exterior-mounted or stand-alone units on flat roofs. When the integrated installation method is used, the solar collectors become a natural part of a roof or a facade. As a part of the building it provides virtually free hot water.

Highly efficient solar heating
Orbit is a thermal solar collector designed on the principle of using energy from the sun to heat a liquid. It is a simple, reliable and highly efficient technology that functions just as well for residential properties as it does for larger buildings – both for space heating and hot tap water. Solar collectors can often supply a business’ entire hot water requirements and in cold climates up to 70% of the annual requirement. During the remaining months of the year, the solar energy produced must be supplemented by energy from other sources. However, solar energy provides an inexpensive energy source all year round which typically equates to between 60 and70% of the annual demand in Ireland and the UK.

In the case of a pitched roof the Orbit collectors can be installed either as an integral part of the roof finish or, in the case of many retro-fit installations mounted on their own system above the roof finish. In the case of flat roofs or ground level installations the collectors can be mounted free standing on their own frame work.
